The pattern comes beautifully presented on A4 card. With clear instructions and a fun design, this knit is sure to fly off your needles!

Yarn Required

Knit in 8ply/DK yarn

Colour A: 5 balls or approx 650 metres/710 yards
Colour B: 2 balls or approx 260 metres/284 yards
Colour C: 2 balls or approx 260 metres/284 yards
Colour D: 2 balls or approx 260 metres/284 yards

The border is knitted in Colour A. If you wish to make the border in Colour B, C or D you will need 3 balls more of that colour and only 2 balls of Colour A.

The Eamon Baby Blanket requires average to intermediate knitting skills.

Techniques used are:
- provisional cast-on
- garter stitch (every row knit stitch)
- decreasing and increasing stitches (in mitred border)
- picking up stitches (side borders)
- mattress stitch (for joining strips)
- flat seam (for mitred borders)

The Eamon Blanket uses a couple of easy knitting techniques to create a beautifully finished blanket. The blanket is knitted in eight strips and joined using mattress stitch. The strips consist of eight blocks of colour with an off-centre textured pattern adding an extra element of interest.

The strips begin with a provisional cast on and the stitches at the other end are left on a thread.

The side borders are picked up and knitted out in garter stitch. The top and bottom borders are worked across the live stitches left at top and bottom after the strips are joined.

The borders have mitred corners, which are flat-seamed to create a neat finish.

There are four colours used in this blanket, but you could also use just two or three colours.

Knitted on 3.75mm & 4mm needles.
