Knitting Kits

Such a great pattern. I was daunted by stranded colourwork for years until I attempted another Say Little Hen pattern (the Nordic Christmas Mouse) about six years ago. The detailed instructions in that pattern made it such a great introduction to a new technique (with which I quickly became obsessed). The Peckish the Hen pattern is similarly approachable for a knitter new to colourwork. The instructions are detailed and really clear. Like, admirably clear. I wish everyone wrote patterns with this level of clarity. It was fun to knit and I learnt a new stitch (the purlwise cable cast-on which really does give a very nice neat edge) with the help of the instructional video that comes with the pattern. Peckish is super cute, knits up in an afternoon, and I am now at risk of flooding my family and friends with little woolly chickens :-)

Loved this kit. 🥰 I am up to my third little house and loving it. Sarah had to show me how to do one of the stitches. Once I got it! I am on it! It is so easy to grab a kit and lean in, with the amazing support and encouragement from Sarah and her team. If you are thinking about giving this a go, then jump in! Any beginner can do it and feel great with their creation. 🙏🥳🏡💕

This is one of (if not the most) squishiest and softest merino yarns I've ever had the pleasure to knit with! Midlands Merino has a lovely range of colours (but I'd always like more lol😆) and is easy to knit with. I've only had a couple small splitting issues when I accidentally jabbed my needle through a stitch 🙈 but the yarn mostly recovers well and hides the split.
