If you're ready to knit your first jumper, or you'd like guidance on knitting a top-down jumper in-the-round, the Support Circle is perfect for you. If you've knitted a jumper before but would like help with sizing, ease and making changes, the Support Circle is also perfect for you!

I’m so excited to announce our new Sweater Knitting Support Circle held at our Noosa Studio. Come together with a group of like-minded makers and be fully supported as you knit a jumper in-the-round, from the top-down.

We’ll be making the beautiful Doocot by Kate Davies. This jumper has raglan shaping and can be knit cropped, as shown, or lengthened to a full-length jumper.

The Sweater Support Circle gives you:

  • The support and guidance to knit a sweater, in-the-round from the top down.
  • You'll be guided on techniques, learn how to choose a size (including choosing ease), learn how to knit a jumper that fits you exactly how you want it to and more.
  • The support and motivation of a community of like-minded makers.
  • Initial Sweater Support Circle 2-Part Workshops at a discounted rate of just $50 per class is included with your Kit.
  • At Workshop 1 you will learn: The important starting steps - swatching, gauge, taking measurements and choosing a size
  • At Workshop 2 you will learn: Checking your gauge swatch (that you knitted during the previous workshop) and then casting on and starting your top-down jumper
  • Followed by access to our Sweater Support Circle member meet-ups ($30ea, including pattern support)
  • Our friendly knitting expert will be on hand at the fortnightly meet-ups to assist with techniques and the next steps of your jumper - helping you make changes to fit and length if you desire; splitting for sleeves, etc.
  • You'll need to purchase the pattern beforehand as a PDF on Ravelry, or purchase it on the day and we can print a copy for you!

Initial Sweater Knitting Workshop Part 1: Friday 17th of May 6pm ~ 8pm
During this workshop, we'll walk through the pattern, knit a gauge swatch, take measurements, discuss ease and choose a size

Initial Sweater Knitting Workshop Part-2: Friday 24th of May 6pm ~ 8pm
During this workshop, we'll check your gauge swatch and make any adjustments to size that are needed and cast on!

Followed by fortnightly member meet-ups on Friday evenings - $30 per session, includes light refreshments + technical and fit adjustment support. These sessions can be booked as-you-go, you don't need to be able to commit to every session.

How to Join:

Sweater Support Circle members must attend our first 2 Workshops, where you’ll receive in-depth tuition if required. This workshop is included at a very special rate with all kits.

Please select your size from the drop-down - to choose a size, measure your bust at the fullest point and choose the size that is as close to your bust size as possible. If you need assistance with this please don't hesitate to contact us!
Then, choose your yarn base from the second drop-down.
For more information on each of the yarn bases, and to see the colour range, go to:

No.4 Organic Wool + Nettles
Peppin 8
Midlands Merino
Woolganic 8ply

After booking we'll be in touch so that you can choose your colours!

The cost of the 2-part Workshops are included in all Kit options at a special discounted rate.

The Full Project Kit gives you all of the yarn required for your Doocot jumper, based on your selected size. Please note: If adjustments to the pattern are made (increasing length, increasing ease), you may need some additional balls of yarn.

Initial Sweater Knitting Workshops (2-parts) at a discounted rate is included with your Kit.

YARN BASES:
- Peppin - a lovely soft, pure merino wool that is also machine washable
- No.4 Organic Wool + Nettles - our delightfully cosy Organic Wool + Nettles yarn, made in Italy. This yarn has a nice depth of colour and some very subtly flecked shades
- Midlands Merino - a divinely soft, 100% merino grown and made in Australia
- Woolganic 8ply - a very soft 100% merino, certified organic

YOU NEED TO BRING
- Knitting Needles & Stitch Markers (also available to purchase in-store).

You'll also need to purchase a copy of the pattern - you can grab a PDF download on Ravelry or ask us in-store to organise a printed version for you on the spot.

Our Project: Doocot by Kate Davies
This project is ideal as a first jumper project. The raglan shape is easy to knit and is a very popular fit choice.
This pattern has clear, easy to follow instructions, a great range of sizes and can be easily customised.
If you've not knitted a top-down jumper before, this is the one to start with!

Doocot is designed for 8ply/DK weight yarn.
We've chosen high-quality yarns for you to create your jumper!
Each of the yarn bases selected will produce a gorgeous result and a jumper that will be beautiful to wear.
Each option features 100% natural fibre yarn that is soft to touch and delightful to knit.
