NOTE: Round 2 now open. This round will be ready to ship/collect after Easter.

The Bookish Knitter's Society is back! In this unique knitting club, we've combined all of the best bits of a knit-along, book club and yarn club to bring you the cosiest knit-along ever.

If you love good books, beautiful yarns and delicious tea, then don't miss Volume 6 of the Bookish Knitter's Society.

There is a place for everyone in this Society - choose which option suits you best! You can browse all options here.

Volume 6 is full of cosy texture and luscious yarn. We'll be knitting Winter's Path Wrap, a new wrap/shawl pattern exclusive to the Society, whilst we read The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong.

About the Project

A lightweight wrap that feels like a cosy cloud to wear, Winter’s Path is a textured knit that is relaxing and fun to create. Using simple knitting techniques for a polished finish, Winter’s Path features textured chevrons, fun bobbles and panels of gossamer-like garter stitch. Easy to wear and style in various ways, this is a wrap you’ll be reaching for time and again.

Winter’s Path is worked from end to end, beginning with a pointed tip and featuring an easy icord edge that is knit as-you-go for a polished finish.

About the Book

A cosy adventure awaits you in The Teller of Small Fortunes. I loved every minute of this tale from Julie Leong and hope you will, too!
A copy of the book isn't included - you have the choice of grabbing a copy from your library, favourite bookstore or choosing the audiobook!

The Ultra Cosy kit is exactly that - super cosy! We've paired the softest merino yarns and ultra-soft silk mohair to give you a gloriously soft Wrap.
Depending on the colour chosen, your kit will include:
Yarn A: 4 x balls of Merry Merino 220 OR 5 x balls Bellissimo 4 Merino Extra Fine
Yarn B: 3 x balls Onion Silk + Kid Mohair OR 4 x balls Ella Rae Silky Kid
All of these yarns give you a super soft, snuggly Winter's Path Wrap that is gorgeous to knit and delightful to wear.
All kits include the correct quantity of yarn to knit the Wrap.

Your kit also includes:
★Printed Winter's Path Wrap pattern booklet
★ Large Say! Little Hen Drawstring Project Bag
★ Hand poured Little Pumpkin candle, made from unscented soywax in NSW.
★4-cup Loose Leaf Tea Sampler from The Berry Tea Shop (flavours are randomly selected and may differ from those shown)
★Bonus Society Recipe (printed)

All Bookish Knitter's Society Kits come beautifully boxed, complete with our Collectible The Bookish Knitter's Society Vol. 6 postcard.

*You need to provide your own copy of the book. This allows you to choose from your library or favourite bookstore.

Recommended Needle Size: 5mm. Needles not included. The Wrap is worked flat, but I recommend a circular needle (60, 80 or 100cm) to make knitting more enjoyable as the wrap grows.

Suitable for adventurous beginners +.
Winter's Path Wrap uses simple knitting techniques to achieve a gorgeous finish. An icord edge is knit as-you-go ~ this technique is not complicated and is very easy to do, but gives a polished finish.
A video tutorial is included for the bobbles, which are simple to knit.
The rest is simple combinations of knit and purl stitches.

Recommended needle size: 5mm. Gauge is not crucial to the finished piece, however, a different gauge may use more yarn.

Yarn A: 4ply/Fingering held with Yarn B: 2ply/lace weight yarn.

Yarn A
- Merry Merino 220 is a GOTS certified organic wool, next-to-skin soft and the yarn used in my original design.
- Bellissimo 4 is a superwash merino, made from Australian and New Zealand wool. Next to skin soft and super bouncy.

Yarn B
- Onion Silk + Kid Mohair has a high Mulberry silk content, giving a gorgeous glimmer to the finished fabric. This Silk/Mohair is amazingly soft and the yarn used in my original design.
- Ella Rae Silky Kid is a soft soft, fluffy mohair/silk. This blend has a matte finish and comes in lovely vibrant shades.

Sign ups are open now. To allow time for orders to arrive, Volume 6 officially kicks off on the 10th of May. This is the day we'll all cast on and start reading the first chapter (if you want to start earlier though, please go ahead!). Like all of our knit-alongs, we're keeping it relaxed with a long timeline.
We'll finish by the 19th of July.

Joining the Facebook group is optional - you don't have to be a member of Facebook to join the KAL! However, if you'd like to join us there please come on over ~ you can chat with other Society members, discuss what chapter we're up to, share live videos and post about our knitting progress.
