EARLY BIRD SIGN UPS are open now - you will receive the pattern on the 16th of April.

The Bookish Knitter's Society is back! In this unique knitting club, we've combined all of the best bits of a knit-along, book club and yarn club to bring you the cosiest knit-along ever.

If you love good books, beautiful yarns and delicious tea, then don't miss Volume 6 of the Bookish Knitter's Society. There is a place for everyone in this Society - choose which option suits you best! You can browse all options here.

Volume 6 is full of cosy texture and luscious yarn. We'll be knitting Winter's Path Wrap, a new wrap/shawl pattern exclusive to the Society, whilst we read The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong.

About the Project

A lightweight wrap that feels like a cosy cloud to wear, Winter’s Path is a textured knit that is relaxing and fun to create. Using simple knitting techniques for a polished finish, Winter’s Path features textured chevrons, fun bobbles and panels of gossamer-like garter stitch. Easy to wear and style in various ways, this is a wrap you’ll be reaching for time and again.

Winter’s Path is worked from end to end, beginning with a pointed tip and featuring an easy icord edge that is knit as-you-go for a polished finish.

About the Book

A cosy adventure awaits you in The Teller of Small Fortunes. I loved every minute of this tale from Julie Leong and hope you will, too!
A copy of the book isn't included - you have the choice of grabbing a copy from your library, favourite bookstore or choosing the audiobook!

As the name suggests, this option is completely digital.

You'll receive PDF copies of Winter's Path Wrap pattern along with a PDF Welcome Booklet to the Society. Note: Early Bird Sign Up - you'll receive the pattern on 16th of April.

Suitable for adventurous beginners +.
Winter's Path Wrap uses simple knitting techniques to achieve a gorgeous finish. An icord edge is knit as-you-go ~ this technique is not complicated and is very easy to do, but gives a polished finish.
A video tutorial is included for the bobbles, which are simple to knit.
The rest is simple combinations of knit and purl stitches.

Recommended needle size: 5mm. Gauge is not crucial to the finished piece, however, a different gauge may use more yarn.

Sign ups are open now. To allow time for orders to arrive, Volume 6 officially kicks off on the 10th of May. This is the day we'll all cast on and start reading the first chapter (if you want to start earlier though, please go ahead!). Like all of our knit-alongs, we're keeping it relaxed with a long timeline.
We'll finish by the 19th of July.

Joining the Facebook group is optional - you don't have to be a member of Facebook to join the KAL! However, if you'd like to join us there please come on over ~ you can chat with other Society members, discuss what chapter we're up to, share live videos and post about our knitting progress.

It's going to be the best fun!

YARN REQUIRMENTS
If you're purchasing yarn separately or using some of your stash you'll need:
Yarn A: 4ply/fingering weight yarn totalling 700 - 720m.
Yarn B: 2ply/laceweight Silk/Mohair blend totalling 700 - 720m.
Yarns A + B are held together to create a thicker yarn.

You can also substitute with a single strand of 8ply/DK weight yarn of approx. 700m - 800m and 1 ball of silk/mohair (to hold single for the gossamer garter panels).

Note: I had 38 metres of silk/mohair left at the end of this project. If your gauge is different you may need an additional ball.

Recommended Needle Size: 5mm.
