The Bookish Knitter's Society is back! In this unique knitting club, we've combined all of the best bits of a knit-along, book club and yarn club to bring you the cosiest knit-along ever.

If you love good books, beautiful yarns and delicious tea then don't miss Volume 5 of the Bookish Knitter's Society. There is a place for everyone in this Society - choose which option suits you best! You can browse all options here.

Volume 5 is full of cosy texture and proudly features 100% Australian-designed and made goodies! We'll be knitting Twists of Fae, a new beret pattern exclusive to the Society whilst we read Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett.

About the Project

Whether adventuring into the realms of the Fae folk or simply adventuring in your neighbourhood, a cosy beret is always a good idea.

Knit in soft, Australian-made yarn, Twists of Fae features a fun twisting cable pattern that can easily be worked without a cable needle.

A garter stitch brim gives a very stretchy, soft edging before the stitch pattern begins. The pattern repeat is easy to memorise and requires just the right amount of focus - a great project to wind down with as you work the easy twisted stitches.

Twists of Fae can be worn as a slouchy beanie, or blocked on a plate to form a classic beret shape.

About the Book

If you feel like an adventure in a snowy land, Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries is the one! Magic, adventure and just a dash of romance feature in this enjoyable tale from Heather Fawcett.
A copy of the book isn't included - you have the choice of grabbing a copy from your library or favourite bookstore. Shopping online from Australia or New Zealand? I recommend Booktopia.

The High Fae box proudly features 100% Australian-made goodies! Please note; High Fae yarn comes in 1 colourway as shown in the pattern photos; you don’t need to select a colour option.

★The Darling Fig A5 Art Print
★Printed Twists of Fae pattern booklet
★ 2 x skeins of Fibre Arts Shed High Fae (*please note that yarn comes in skeins ~ if you would like it wound before shipping please add 2x ball winding to your order).

★Bonus Society Recipe (printed)

All Bookish Knitter's Society Kits come beautifully packaged complete with our Collectible The Bookish Knitter's Society Vol. 5 postcard.

*You need to provide your own copy of the book. This allows you to choose from your library or favourite bookstore.

Twists of Fae features a simple stitch repeat that uses twisted stitches or mini cables. You can use a cable needle to create these, or work them easily without a cable needle - a video tutorial for this technique is included with the pattern.

Knit in the round on your preferred style of needle - i.e double pointed, 40cm/16" circular or a long circular using the Magic Loop method.

Recommended needle size: 3.25mm.

Origin
Fibre Arts Shed is a family-owned & operated micro mill in New South Wales, Australia. This yarn is 100% Australian made from start to finish.

Volume 5 officially kicks off on the 12th of April. This is the day we'll all cast on and start reading the first chapter. Like all of our knit-alongs, we're keeping it relaxed with a long timeline.
We'll finish by the 31st of May, after which the knit-along prize will be drawn.

Joining the Facebook group is optional - you don't have to be a member of Facebook to join the KAL! However, if you'd like to join us there please come on over ~ you can chat with other Society members, discuss what chapter we're up to, share live videos and post about our knitting progress.
